The first ever all-female flight deck crew for Royal Brunei Airlines has operated a plane from Brunei to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Although it was a milestone for the airline, the pilot crew touched down in a country where women are still not allowed to drive a car. There is a Facebook campaign with over 36,000 likes on FaceBook Saudi Women to Drive Campaign in support of their efforts towards equality.
In this story there are 3 women, facing adversity in a place where they are without equal rights, serving as an example that with determination anything is possible and women are just as capable as men given the opportunity! It may be apparent IFLA is passionate about one thing and that is doing what is best for families. Another issue we are passionate about is equality. Across the world, there are people of varying races, ethnicities, and faiths who do not have equal rights. In spite of great adversity, there are people who still accomplish amazing feats.
